POM (ACETAL) RODS

Acetal rods, also known as polyacetal rods or POM rods, are high-performance thermoplastic engineering materials with exceptional mechanical properties. In many industrial contexts where high strength, stiffness, and dimensional stability are required, high-density polymers such as polyoxymethylene (POM) are widely used. Precision part machining often uses solid cylindrical POM acetal rods. 

There are typically two types of POM: 

A homopolymer is a form that is more chemically resistant and stiff.

How many types of POM rods are there?

1、Colored Acetal Rod: This rod is available in several colors for aesthetic or identification purposes.

2、Natural (White): Most commonly used in wide-ranging and precise industrial applications. 

3、Because it offers even less friction and better wear resistance, carbon-filled acetal is commonly used in high-performance applications. 

4、Black Acetal Rod: Graphite or other lubricants are often added to black acetal rod to improve wear resistance in high-friction applications.

3、Handling: To avoid contamination, wear gloves when working with acetal. Make sure there is enough ventilation when cutting, machining, or treating the material because tiny amounts of smoke or dust may be produced.
